Late Talking

Whether your child has yet to speak their first word or struggles to combine words, we have the knowledge and tools to support their language growth. Once we identify why your child is late to talk, we utilize a combination of parent coaching and play-based therapy to help them:

  • Say new words

  • Reduce frustration

  • Verbally connect with others

  • Gain confidence

We know that young children learn best through play, and that family members are their most important teachers! Therapists at PASS have taken numerous late talking/early intervention courses, such as Teach Me To Talk by Laura Mize.

Speech & Stuttering

Children with speech challenges may speak in a way that is hard to understand, mumbled, distorted, or stuttered. After we determine the underlying cause of your child's unique speech errors, we can tailor our therapy approach to help them:

  • Speak more clearly

  • Produce all age-appropriate sounds

  • Reduce tension and stuttering

  • Communicate with confidence

We know how frustrated your child must feel when they are not understood. At PASS, each speech therapy session is individually designed to meet them where they are at and help them grow from there. We take time to get to know your child's interests and hobbies so that our sessions stay fun and motivating - despite the hard work that takes place!

Language & Literacy

Did you know that language and literacy skills are tightly woven together? By systematically strengthening your child's language skills, we can help them:

  • Understand what they hear and read

  • Spell and decode words with ease

  • Learn new vocabulary words

  • Express their thoughts clearly, when talking and writing

  • Read smoothly and accurately

We strive to create fluent readers and strong writers that have rich vocabularies and deep comprehension abilities! Therapists at PASS have extensive training in academic language programs such as Lindamood-Bell's Visualizing & Verbalizing program, as well as multi-sensory, structured literacy trainings such as Wilson Reading System and SPELL-Links.
